Dr. Maryam Khawari is an American Board-Certified Internist, Rheumatologist and Diplomate in American Board of Obesity Medicine. She has close to two decades experience in treating complex autoimmune conditions and various arthritides. She received her M.D. degree from Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI. She received her rheumatology fellowship training under leading experts at Medical College of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, where she participated in conducting clinical trials related to Systemic Sclerosis. Dr. Khawari served as Associate Professor at University of Kentucky before establishing private practice to serve Lexington’s community in Kentucky and later in Houston,TX.

Dr.Khawari is keenly interested in the association of obesity and autoimmune diseases.Both autoimmune diseases and obesity are chronic medical conditions and several studies have shown heightened immune responses seen in patients with obesity. Hence, she also incorporates evaluation and consultancy for obesity and its management, nutritional advice and pharmacological management for indicated BMIs.

Dr. Khawari is currently a member of the American College of Physicians, American College of Rheumatology and Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.

My experience at Rheumatology Associates of Greater Houston was very good. Dr.Khawari was extremely nice and very knowledgeable. Her office staff were very nice and helpful. This is truly a very good Doctors office if you are in need of a top notched Rheumatologist.

Wonderful doctor. Punctual and efficient. The appointments are on time and the wait is short. I see the doctor herself each time i stead of her PA unlike some of the other doctors. There is an onsite lab which is super convenient and fast. Dr. Khawari is knowledgeable and kind. She is thorough and detailed.

Dr. Khawari’s bedside manners were lacking and didn’t offer much for path forward other than take Tylenol. Also brought in a student without asking if that’s ok. If you need to do labs with a urine sample you have to walk through the building and waiting room with the sample.I have a different maiden name and saw your office in April of 2024. This is not a fake review. Thank you.

Today I had a visit and it was my first time here. The Dr was amazing and had the best bedside manner ever. She really listened to what I had to say and is doing everything to get to what is wrong with my knees. I definitely recommend coming here. If I could give more than Five stars I would!!!!!! Everyone from the front desk to the assistant to the Dr were amazing.. Thank you Dr.Khawari!!!
